Product Compliance

All electrical products from Jemella Ltf are subjected to independent complance= testing by government and EU- approved bodies. They all comply with BSEN 60335-2-23 and carry the CE mark. Other approvals include the USA, Australia / New Zealand and South Africa.

Use

This GHD styler is intended solely for use as a hairstyling aid, and should only be used for this purpose. It must only be used with products specifically designed for use with a heated hairstyling aid.

Thermal Protection

Jemella Ltd recommends using only thermal protection products from the GHD thermodynamics range with GHD hair straighteners. Spray onto Clean damp hair prior to drying, or spray lightly onto each section of dry hair before using your GHD hair straighteners.

Operation

1) IMPORTANT – This styler is designed for 110 or 230v, 60/50hz AC operation only. Do not use with other power supplies.

2) When the red indicator light (LED) begins to flash and the GHD hair straighteners emit a bleep, the optimal straightening temperature has been achieved and the hair straighteners are ready for use.

3) The average operating temperature will vary from person to person, depending upon hair tyne and condition, but should be in the range of 175 – 185 degrees.

Universal Voltage

The GHD hair straighteners operate at 110v and 230v (AV only). This means that wherever you go in the world, it will automatically determine the local supply voltage and adjust itselft for optimum performance.

Sleep Mode

If the hair straighteners have not been used for 30 minutes, the heaters turn off and the hair straighteners go into sleep mode. However, it remains connected to the power supply and is not actually switched off. It will continue to emit a warning bleep every 20 seconds to indicate that it is sleeping. The LED light will change colour and flash amber. Always turn the iron off and disconnect it from the supply when not straightening hair. To reactivate the styling irons, simply reset using the on / off switch.

Shiver Mode

If the room temperature falls to below 5 degrees, a warbling sound will be heard and the hair straighteners will not operate when switched on. It should be switched off until the room temperature reaches 5 degrees. This feature protects your styler from damage caused by the formation of internal condensation.

The GHD styler benefits from unique digital technology, offering advanced functions with improved temperature control for more effective styling.

Ceramic Technology

The GHD hair straighteners use ceramic technology including purposely designed aluminum alloy straightening plates with a protective coating, protecting the ceramic heaters and providing the ultimate hair straightening surface. The ceramic material, combined with the special coating on the heater cover plates, emits ions which can assist in protecting the hair during straightening.

Failure to Operate

If the straighteners fail to operate, check that it is switched on correctly, and then that the power supply is present and switched on. For UK 13 amp plugs, check that the 5 amp fuse is intact. If the fuse has failed it MUST be replaced with a British Standard 5-amp fuse.

Adaptors

The GHD hair straighteners are fitted with a standard two pin Euro plug, covered with a UK 13 amp adaptor. The adaptor is secured in place with a single screw between the square pins. To use the straighteners outside the UK, where the two pin is standard, simply remove the securing screw between the three pins and slide the adaptor from the two pin plug. Reverse the process to refit the three pin UK adaptor. Alternatively, a hair straightener travel adaptor can be used.

Security

In order to be certain that you are buying a genuine GHD product you should only purchase your styler from an approved stockist or GHD approved website. You can view this list on the GHD hair straightener website. Please remember to keep your original proof of purchase.

GHD Hologram

Unique holograms are applied to the body and power cord of the hair straighteners, which can not be copied. They contain registered ID codes which enable you to authenticate genuine GHD products.
